Who are the participants in equity market?
posted by: 24cfinance @ Thu Aug 17, 2017 12:02 pm
Basically, there are three different types of participants which
interact with each other to carry various activities on the
exchange. They are:
1. Investors
2. Dealers and brokers
3. Issuers
Investors are the people who invest and divest in shares on the
virtually available exchange. In equity market, the trading can
be intraday or delivery. When investors hold their stocks for
longer, they are actually putting their money on risk. Risks are
inevitable in market place. Quality information, sophisticated
trading tools, consistent upd...

Buy new car to be safe, or pay-off remaining CC debt?
posted by: jnb150 @ Fri Aug 04, 2017 3:45 pm
Here's the quick breakdown:

I have 20k in CC debt, and currently have roughly 1600/month in un-allocated funds, and the ability to pay off at least 1k/month toward the CC debt. Meaning it would take roughly 20 months to be CC debt free.
I only have 12 months to do this though because we're expecting to have to put a child into daycare come next August, and our cash flow is going to be bottle-necked. That 1k/month I have to pay off CC debt is going to dry up very quick.

Here's my issue:

I have a 5 year old Subaru that's no longer...

Where to get started with finances and have a good plan?
posted by: ComputerCarGuy @ Tue Aug 01, 2017 2:45 am
So, I'm a teen currently and I really am not sure where to start. In saving up for my first car I realized how complicated finances are. People always say do what you love but to me if I take a hobby I love and make it a career then that just makes me not enjoy it as much.

Anyhow, how does one get started in business and making profit? I have a background in computers and plan to go to college majoring in a computer related subject not sure which yet, minoring in some sort of engineering and also financing. Now I don't know much yet but tha...

Tax exemption questions
posted by: bobdob @ Sun Jul 30, 2017 6:07 am
New to the Forum, and excited to start taking control of my Finances!

Could someone please break down something for me.

On my Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) I claim ,
Married and have 1 exemption. I have 2 children now, so I should probably change that to 2 children.

Last tax return I received almost $7500, it helped because my son was born Dec. 29, just barely made the 2016 Tax Season!

How can I greatly reduce the amount in which I receive as a return, and increase my pay checks?
I feel like i would rather have more money ...

Bitcoin Has Reached A Fork In The Road

Not always popular, but cryptocurrencies are here

August the 1st sees a major advent in the progress of blockchain/bitcoin with a new protocol being released that will improve transaction performance and capability.

This has brought about an uncertainty on the exchanges - Meanwhile, how can we make money from the crypto markets.

There's definitely opportunity for gains on the alternative "alt coins' , but how to trade?

20% daily gains can't be bad...

Sure there's a way

Am i doing it right? 401k retirement.
posted by: 45pro @ Fri Jul 28, 2017 10:42 pm
Hello everyone. I am a 30 yr old male thats married with two children. I have been working the same job for over 10 years. Unfortunately I have only started saving for my retirement 2 years ago. My work offers a 401k that I signed up for but I have no idea if what I am doing is good enough, or wrong completely. Maybe there are better options? I really have no idea how it all works and am just wondering if I'm saving my money for retirement in the best way possible, and if not how it could i be. I am currently putting 5% in an after tax 401k pla...

Investing total Income for Max Growth
posted by: Mad_Scientist @ Wed Jul 26, 2017 1:08 pm
Hey everyone,

So back story here. Im in my early 30s. Way behind on retirement savings, but now making really good money. I have a family of 4 and my income more than supports us comfortably, and will allow me to make some good moves to catch up.

My significant other, however, in her early 20s, is now out of the infant / toddler phase, and wanted to get out of the house and back to work.

What we are planning, is to invest 100% of her income (which will most likely be meager) into an aggressive growth fund. We could afford ...
