Hidden fees  Reply with quote

What are the fees that I need to look out for when investing in stocks. Is there a certain percentage for the transfer? An annual fee? If so, what are the cost percentages? I'm a complete newbie at this kind of stuff and am eyeballing a couple of investments before I place my money.

I know that companies in general love to sneak in hidden fees whenever they can get the chance. So I'd like to get as many discovered as I possibly can.

Vanguard, Fidelity and T. Rowe Price have no annual fees and no transfer fees, which is what makes them so dominate in the industry. Plus their expense ratios are low because they compete amongst one another for business, so with my VTASX, my expense ratio is something like .005% IMO, there isn't a reason in the world I would pay comissions are fees to have someone manage my portfolio. I'm well diversified with Index funds.
