Riding a bike really helps to lose weight. I wanted to lose weight by a few pounds, I first went to work by bike, then we started cycling with friends on weekends. I realized that this really works. I recommend to add barbell exercises. This resistance training in general, is really the BEST way to build muscle and lose fat. Including resistance training (either with weights or simple plyometics with body weight) will increase the number of calories you can burn.
