If I were in your shoes, I'd research the aftermath of the huge bank bailout of 2009. Did it truly work out? What kind of message did the "too big to fail" banking industry take to heart? What were the effects on inflation? Did this fiasco serve as an argument FOR or AGAINST the Federal Reserve?
A third juicy option would be America's divorce from gold and silver standards. What has been the aftermath of America moving off the gold standard? What purpose does the gold at Fort Knox - if it is still there, which is doubtful - still serve? Trump actually quoted Reagan in one of the debates about the danger of moving away from gold. Ron Paul talks all the time about a coming financial crisis because our dollar isn't backed by anything (this gets back to the first topic, the government's ability to print money at will). What happened to the silver JFK had prepared for moving us to a silver standard? Where is all the gold in the world today? So many gold funds, so little gold. Oh, and then there's gold confiscation of 1933. Was that a violation of our rights?
