Credit Card Problem? I hate AMEX! |
|
|
Hi - In the last 2 months I have applied for more than 10 credit cards, I received all the 10 that I applied!! Just AMEX gave me 3 cards!
Now, I am out of the country and using my cards, I set up all my cards with my bank account in the USA using the internet. i AM NEVER LATE WITH MY PAYMENTS.
Since I am not comming back to the USA I have cancelled all my phones. Last week I was trying to use one of my AMEX card but for my surprise they have cancelled it saying they made a mistake in my application and they should had take more information about me before they send me that card, they were trying to contact me but since my phone was cancelled they never reached me and my account is frozen now!
They are going to cancel it in 15 days if I donīt provide a list of documents that they want. I am unable to provide that list until next month, so my account with AMEX will be cancelled.
My question:
Is there any problem for me to move out of the country? Does the credit card see this in a bad way? I dinīt tell AMEX that I am not comming back.
Can AMEX report it to the credit bureau and give me problems with the other credit company? Should I update my new address overseas now or if I do this other company can freeze my account?
I am afraid to loose more accounts because I am overseas now. What should I do? Does one credit card company has the right to cancel my account because I am not in the country anymore?
I have all this questions because I need to pay my university using the credit card in two months and I am very afraid that I can have all my credit card cancelled because I am not in the USA anymore. Is this information valid? Or I am just freaking out for nothing?

Thanks for your reply. But I am fine in paying my education with credit because the instituition wants to pay in advance, and if I put the amount in the credit in less than one year I pay back what I owne, because I ahev a full time job.
My greatest concern is if I update my information abroad can the other issuers freeze my account or give me some problems?
Thanks

I can tell you that if I were a Credit Card issuer and read what you wrote here, I would be inclined to cancel your account too. Like Coaster said, your actions are outside the intent of your terms, if not in direct violation.

Well, I donīt see any problem in using less than 40% of my credit if I am never late with my payments and if in less than 1 year I pay back everything.
I know people who uses 100% of their credit limit. If the credit issuers gave me the credit line I can use use it the way I want. or I canīt?

Not the problem . . . |

That would be fine if you remained in the country and had a job to repay your debt. As a loan officer I would be highly suspect that when you finish your education you would vanish into thin air with a big fat balance. Letting your balance escalate month after month without ever making a payment will probably raise some red flags.
