Hello everyone i am going to be starting a buisness and i want to know what the best software is for inventory and accounting and printing up receipts and all of that. Please let me know.

Hmmm,
Depending upon the market a website can either very important during at start up (providing much needed business) or it can be an unnessecary bured on your time.
Think very carefully before embarking down this route - you may regret using so much money and time and losinmg focus on your core business model.

I agree, if you have a local market a website might not be something you will want to look into right away. If the market is bigger, then I would consider a website in the beginning. Remember not to rule out the website for the local market though, but it just isn't a number one priority in the beginning.

A website is only good if people know its there.
eg/ everyone knows google is there...but did they know that dogpile.com was there.
Also many companys put .com at the end of the company's name
e.g confused.com
this way its advertising the compant AND the site

I've been considering starting a courier service between the small, isolated town where we live to another town 90 miles away. That's is where the nearest pharmacy is, and it takes the mail several days to get medicines from there to here. I make the drive about once a week anyway, and two of the four pharmacies have told me they do most of their business on Mondays. There is also a small town between us that would also benefit from the service. But now I've been told that someone plans to put a pharmacy here, although their business will be primarily over the counter drugs at first. I need something, outside of home to keep me busy, and like anyone else, could use the extra money. Finding work here is hard, and nearly impossible if you don't speak Spanish. Any thoughts?

My daughter has recently launched two websites--one to display and promote her work as a photographer, and the other as a business promoting the music in their area, ie, bands, where they're playing, the venues, etc. Her revenue comes from advertisers to the site. She sent links for her sites to everyone she knows, and asked them to pass them along. Of course, family and friends did so. Of course, you want people who are looking for your services or whatever to find you, so look into getting your website listed with search engines like Google. Don't know how that works, but I'm sure someone else on this forum will know. You can also find out about putting links to your website on other people's websites, sites that relate to your business. And don't forget about your local chamber of commerce. If you join, they will probably allow you to put a link on their website. You do have to have permission from whoever maintains the website. Some websites will do it if you put a link to their site on your site. Good old fashioned business cards, with your website address, and don't forget your email address, on them, passed along to people who might be interested in your product are definitely worth the investment.

To start a business
1.Write a business plan :A business plan is essential because it allows you to experiment with the strategy for your business on paper, before you start playing for keeps.
2.Determine how you'll make a profit :Profit is, after all, the ultimate goal of any successful small business. You should examine your business' expenses (rent, materials, employee compensation, etc.) and then figure out how much you will need to sell to cover those costs and start generating a profit.
3.Start with as much of your own money as possible:Many small business owners cover their start up cost entirely through loans, with the expectation that they will begin paying back the loans with the profits from their new business. New businesses can take months or years to generate a profit, however, and loan payments can really become a millstone around the neck of a fledgling operation.
4.Protect yourself:Most small businesses are sole proprietorships or partnerships. While these types of businesses are nice and easy to form, they also expose their owners to liability for business debts and judgments. Creditors and judgment holders can come after the owners' personal assets, like savings accounts and homes, once the business' money is depleted.

There are many options out there, you just have to find what best fits you. Try looking at NetSuite.com they can help. I believe they would give you free trials too.
