I haven't used Adwords much myself yet. I get mostly natural traffic through search engines and through articles I have distributed.

Cost-wise, it varies greatly depending on the keywords you are targeting. You can pay anywhere from a few pennies per click to several dollars. If you go that route be sure to do your research to choose the right keywords.

Put ads on your site and have the money you make with your site be spent on advertising it. I suggest using adsense and adwords.

Great sales copy - that's where it's at  Reply with quote

I'd say the most important thing is a great sales letter, a lot of traffic and a nice "post sale letter" to minimize the buyers remorse. Also add a lot of bonuses and make your site look good, but not too professional so your visitors will start reading it and not immediately disregard it as a "Sales page".

Surfers want free information - unless you can make them believe you have something worth buying.

Working it like a business, and not a hobby. You need to advertise it. Open your mouth. Tell everyone you have a business. Put flyers up. Put it in the classifieds. Start a blog. Be bold.

Well my ideas for generating traffic to new websites, in the easy cheap way:

- Ask every friend u have, if they could at least enter ur website once a day: prolly they will like it, and some of their friends might chekc it out once in a while.

- Keep it updated so people want to return.

- As people alrdy said: post links in any forum and signature, so everyone who finds it catchy might enter at least once.

- Pay programs adevrtisment: now this is somehting i do, some of the programs people use, like studiotraffic, allow their members to have banners or small signs in the website, so other members of the program might wana join. Of course to do this u must be an old timer memebr, who has reached a certain lvl and complished certain things. yet in many cases is a free way to advertise.

I agree,

Search engine placement is critical to the success of any online business. All my businesses succeed solely because of the time and effort placed in getting in the top positions on Google. I had tried the PPC route, but with so many bogus click through scams, it is not worth it anymore, but it can help you move up the rankings faster, but unless you are number one, PPC is not worth it. Good luck to all, Mike

Interesting,

You are correct, search engines are free, but getting to the top costs time and money and unless you are on top, being in a search engine is useless. As far as PPC goes, this has become one of the most expensive means of advertising unless you are careful in choosing your keywords. So to say search engines don't cost anything is only true if you are the last one in that search engine. (g)

Good luck to all, Mike

Funny,

Yes, of course, you won't get anywhere unless you have a high quality product or service to sell. Everyone thinks they have the best, but how many really do? (g)
