ROFLOLOLOL *gasp* BWAAHAHAHLOLOLOL *wheeeeze*

So thick. It's not "google bombing" because it affects all search engines. Call it "link bombing" please. The BBC wrote about link bombing way back in 2002.

It only recently came back up because Bush now ranks for the straightforward term "failure, instead of the old faithful search term, "miserable failure".

As usual, you are just wrong. It was not started by Michael Moore, or his website. Who knows which enlightened soul started it - many will claim responsibility.

I usually despise it when people corrupt the public information pool. But in this case I certainly make an exception, because it's just true - Bush will be remembered as a failure.

So let me get this straight - you believe that the whole miserable failure link schenanigans were invented by Michael Moore? Or are you saying that he started the links to just failure?

I thought that the Michael Moore website may have participated in the miserable failure and the failure link bombs, he didn't actually start them.

Of course, if you're a fan of muckrakers or simply obessed with thier art, I could see how you would feel the compulsion to bring them up at every turn.

The fact is that merely appearing in the result for miserable failure or just failure is NOT conclusive evidene for having started the trend.

Also - since link bombing influences ALL search engines, not just Google, it lends more weight to your speculation to acknowledge that this isn't just a Google hack. It's bigger than that. It's a search engine bomb. Or a link bomb.

This also has the added advantage of being the correct terminology, if you've ever been concerned with that sort of thing.

Still, this whole issue is years old now. But I guess the story of the miserabe failure never really gets old, does it?

I think it is pretty funny... overall... but try keeping your politics out of it.
