How many of you are turning a profit on an investment property as a traditional rental? How many of you turning that profit bought the house in the last 3 years?

I bought a house in Canada 5 years ago for $450 000(Canadian dollars). Today that house has an incredible value of $940 000(Canadian Dollars), and it is still growing! The are was quiet, and now, it has delevoped unbelievably! It was the best move I ever made! My father said I should not buy it, but I did, and now I am very happy!

Hello Cangiz, I applaud you for getting an appreciation of almot 500k on your house. However, i just want to point out that appreciation is not really a profit in an investment sense of way. Many people believe that because their house appreciated in so much $, they attribute them as investment profit. Profit is derive when you get something back from your investment. In the case of home appreciation, until such time that a refinancing or selling the house take place, there really is no profit being made except intrinsically. I just want to point that out for many people associate appreciation with profits. They are used differently by real estate investors... Wink
