Our website offers some merchandise through CafePress; I was wondering what anyone elses experience has been with the merchandising site. I admit is is easy and there is relatively no cost, but it seems profit margins have to be so low to keep the retail price down that it is almost not worth the time of creating the designs and managing the page. Any thoughts?

I don't have any personal experience with Cafe Press, but since so many merchants use it, they must be doing something right.

I agree. They've got to have some people that are pushing a lot of merchandise to keep them going.

Thanks for the response. We are looking at adjusting the line a little to focus on office products rather than attire. Does anyone know of any other merchandising dot coms like cafe...?

depending on the volume you are looking at selling/givign away you might want to look local or even throguh stapes or office depot as they will logo cards/pens/cups/binders etc.. for fair price or even do a search for this online and setup your own show instead of letting others take your profits

If you have a unique design that people like AND you do the work to get people to your Cafe Press products page, you can INDEED make money.
We're definitely talking volume here.
Personally, I'm planning to create some Cafe Press items for my club members so those who want to can purchase branded merchandise.
The idea being ... using a mug, or wearing a cap with our club logo and URL would be a passive way to promote their business while they go about their lives.
Cafe Press is definitely an inexpensive and automated way to offer these types of promotional sales tools to your business partners ... as well as a way to create give-away incentives to the same folks!
BUT ... if you want Cafe Press to be your business, it is definitely an inexpensive way to create unique merchandise and present it for sale. MUCH MUCH cheaper than creating the same items yourself and finding a place to sell them.
Good luck!
