Two primary area of investment is for revenue (rent) or growth (increase value). It is very similar to the stock market.
Different market conditions can obviously effect how the investments fair, but two advantages about land are that it is tangible and they are not making any more of it.
BTW, I have 210 prime acres with hunting in upper Michigan I would like to sell.

Apartments, houses, storage, raw land. What can I put money in that will do the best over ten years, I like storage and the numbers look good, anybody have good insight. I think the time is right to get in way.

From my point of view investment in gold is a great idea. it is a long term investigation. I also an investor of gold. go with this. seriously its the right way.

Condos are better for cash flow, with detached homes you're mostly going for appreciation, which isn't a bad bet these days.

I think nowadays the best investments involve properties, apartments, cars, because people will always travel, move from here to there and new buildings are built as well...
If you think to start a business it should be based on products that are always needed and can't be neglected. It's only the main idea but if you'll keep on searching I'm sure you will find something promising.

Well, looking at the recent recession and financial crisis all over, i think best way to make investment is through diversification. Invest in moderate risk sources and try to balance portfolio with minimal risk is the best way to make safe money.
