Customer payment to my Credit Card - Is it possible? |
|
|
Hi all,
I am on the verge of acquiring an international VISA card. Hopefully, I shall be able to get PayPal to verify my credentials through the same.
I would like to know if it is technically viable for them to make the payment direct to my credit card? Up until now, my knowledge says that one can use credit cards to *make* payments. Can one use credit cards to *receive* payments as well?
So, if my present unexhausted credit (that I can utilize) is X, then due to this money Y coming in, will it rise to X+Y?
All help on this is highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

It is possible to issue a credit to a credit card.
This is usually done in the context of a merchant refunding a customer's payment, but I don't think that it has to be that case specifically.
I think this would request a merchant account to perform this operation, but if you had a merchant account then they could just pay you directly (i.e. you'd process the charge and you'd get credit in your bank account).

Hello,
Thanks for your response.
What I had in mind, was that my customer simply pays "into" my credit card account. So, whether the credit card can act as an alternative to a regular bank account? Usually, the customer directs their bank to transfer the payment to my account number of my regular bank. My regular bank's SWIFT number is required by the customer's bank for such a transfer, which I provide.
If the customer is able to pay the money directly to my credit card, then providing my credit card number should suffice.
Is it feasible, this way?
Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of such a thing, so barring the options already mentioned, I'm doubtful that you can do this...
