Well it depends how long passed from the last payment. In the first year or 2 you will probably get all kind of letters that tells you that you didn't payed. Then phone calls and finally the company to which you own money or the state will sue you and you will have to go to the court and tell them why are you not paying and you can even get into jail. I think not paying taxes is really dangerous.

What do you mean "not pay taxes?" Most people have their taxes withheld from their paychecks. If you had enough withheld to cover your tax liability, then you're PAID. If you mean not pay any taxes at all, none withheld, no estimated payments, no returns filed, AND if you had income above the level where you would be LIABLE for taxes, then.....
eventually you go to jail.
"not having enough money" is not an excuse or a "get out of jail" card. However, most likely, if a person doesn't have enough money, their income is probably so low as to be below the point where they're liable for taxes anyway.
