| How to improve PR and traffic |

I have decided to invest a few $ in advertising for my website (web developers community) and I have found a couple of websites that look to me to be quite good (about same topic) and high PR.
seotoday.net < is one of them. The website has PR 5, has multiple PR 4 pages, has somewhat related content to my own website, and text links there are cheap. It also has about 400 google indexed pages, and lower numbers in yahoo and other search engines.
onlinewebdirectory.com < is another one, but not very related. A monthly footer link costs 10$. The PR is 5, and it has 8000+ google indexed pages, out of 60,000+ pages. So 3 months here cost 30 $ in comparison to seotoday`s 36 $ fee.
Onlinewebdirectory.com has PR 3 in 3 datacenters while seotoday.com is PR 5 in each datacenter.
What do you suggest I do.
Moreover, if you know a good place for text link auctions, I`d appreciate your help.

Paid text links will get you some traffic but Google does not like paid text links and will not give you the same PR power a regular free link on a high PR site gives you.
As long as you keep your site content relevant and build backlinks by submitting articles, social bookmarking and directory submissions to your homepage and inside pages, you will build PR and traffic. I would not try and build page rank by paying for high PR text links, but it could get you some good exposure and possible other sites linking to you as a result of your paid text link campaign.
If you want to maximize your exposure with paid advertising you should try a press release through PR web. This will get you indexed quickly and get you lots of high PR backlinks to your site.

I personally use text-link-ads.com. To the best of my knowledge google doesn't identify them as paid links, they are just regular html.

Well I would really agree to that building relevant links regarding the theme of your website and provide your website a good content, and an attractive theme to make visitors come back to the website as they found your website useful that really makes a website attract traffic.

I heard that linkbuilding is the most useful applied as blog commenting, which means that you should search for dofollow blogs and leave a comment with name, email and website URL.

You want to increase traffic by building content and backlinks.
Try writing a set amount everyday or every week and stick to a plan. In the same regards you want to blog comment and forum post a certain amount each week as well.

There are lots of way on net for promotion, you have to choose 1 best strategy and work on it. you will get what you want.

Honestly, there's no need on buying paid links just to get a few backlinks from high-rated PR websites. As stated above, Google will not give you the same PR power from a freely added backlink.
Just browse around the web and switch backlinks with other websites of the same niche, it's honest, quick and a win-win situation. But don't just stick with one backlink exchange, try to get as many as possible.
No need to waste your money.

I'm sure those sites appreciate you announcing to the world that they sell links LOL. It's posts like these that will end up getting them penalized and make the links you're paying for worthless. Which means you continue to pay and get NO benefit from the links.
If you're going to buy links discuss it offline with the site your going to buy from... or offline from a link broker. As others have said, it is a violation of Google's webmaster guidelines to buy and sell links, so you don't want to go around talking about it online if you plan to do it. NEVER give the name of a site that is selling links if you plan to buy one from them.
If you're squabbling over $30 here, $36 there... you probably have no business buying links to begin with. If you're going to buy links, you generally will be spending at least hundreds if not thousands per month if you want it to be effective.

Agreed, backlinking is key! Generating good traffic is all about being active in popular forums, blogs, bookmarking sites, where you can backlink! Also, send your site to free web directory submissions. Also stay active on social networking sites such as facebook, twitter, LinkedIn. This way when someone types your link or a keyword on google or yahoo, your website will be at the top of the search engine!

Looks like really old offers, because I haven't seen PR5 site wide backlinks for such price, even not on DP, where is lowest prices as I have find.
I am selling backlinks 20$ each on my PR3 websites and it is quite expensive, but I have many pages indexed and good domain age, like 6and8 years

There are several possible way to improve the pr of your site............ there are many ways like---link building, bookmarking, directory submission , blog posting , forum posting etc......
bt there are some important rules that you can follow everytime.....
i> Update your website every day by adding more unique content. If you site has some information for a visitor then it is 100% chance for him to come back to your site again.
ii> Provide inside linking to your website. For example you can provide a link of your previous and next articles on an article page. Or you can provide a list of related articles so visitor can remains a long time on your website.
