Is it bad that I still haven't done my taxes this year yet? I want to but I'm just so stressed out and have so much going on.

They aren't due until 15 April. Unless you think you have a refund coming, there's no need to rush. However, you need to be careful because if any problems arise and you need to consult a tax preparer or CPA, you may not find one at the last minute.

Bubblez, if you have a refund coming, you can delay filing your taxes as long as you want. You could file next year. Or three years from now. And you won't incur any penalties because there's no tax due.
If you owe taxes, penalties begin accruing on April 15. However, you can get a six-month extension to file, taking you to October 15, without any explanation, by filing a form. And if you've already paid in 90% of what's due by April 15, the penalties are waived.

Just TurboTax it and get it over with. Sounds like you're doing what I do when I'm trying to avoid writing a paper. Spending more time thinking about it than actually just doing it.
Turbotax is a breeze. Get it over with then treat yourself to a good glass of red wine, or what your choice of poison is.

Sounds like not doing your taxes is adding to your stress... Might want to just get it over with. And if you are getting a refund, then there is something to take away from that stress!

The advertisement which led me to this said that
some of these IRS sponsored companies will do
both Fed and State for free.

I did mine for free through Turbotax. You can if you make under 50k a year. There are several easy to use programs out there if you don't have a super complex tax situation (don't have a business to deal with).

I felt stressed and depressed rather long time, managed to recover thanks to long lasting therapy and medical observation. Btw, during the stress period I saved myself with cbd vape and dab carts .
