vanguard star or retirement target 2050?  Reply with quote

I am 34 and currently am investing with the vanguard star fund which has 60% stock. Growth has only been moderate. Would anyone advise going with their retirement target 2050 fund that has 90% stock that tapers off as the fund approaches 2050? Should I invest in both funds? Thanks.

If I was 34 I would use the Target 2050. (I've never owned it, I retired before target funds were invented). But the concept is about the same as what I did.

If you're talking about a retirement account, you can stand a lot more risk in the stock market at your age. Who knows what the immediate future holds for stocks, but long-range has a lot more potential for growth.
