The AMEX Delta Skymiles card is a decent airline card if you fly exclusively on Delta. You get priority boarding, one free checked bag and double miles on all Delta purchases. But I wouldn't say it's the best airline credit card out there.
Some cards, like the Capital One Venture Rewards Card, will allow you to earn double miles on all your purchases. This means you'll accumulate miles much quicker. Plus, it has a lower interest rate and a lower annual fee.
Plus, there are a variety of other offers with lower interest and no fees. I guess it really depends on what you're looking for. If you payoff your balance each month, then you'll want the card with the most reward potential. But if you carry any debt, it will cost you more and you might want to consider a lower rate miles offer.
I would highly suggest to shop and compare multiple airline offers...
