If you look at Facebook, you'll see a lot of large companies running promotions. For example, become a Fan of their page and get a free sample, a coupon, or some other kind of perk.

Social Media is a great way to reach people about your products and services.

You're right hofopo.com. Social media is a great way to reach a target audience. I imagine large companies give away 10's of thousands of coupons and free samples on Facebook.

Social Networking to promote business  Reply with quote

I thought this may be of some use. I am a member of an inner circle group of internet marketers and this was posted on our web site...

Problem: Password Fatigue
- 86% of visitors have left a site when prompted to register.
- 88% of visitors have admitted to entering false information into forms.

Solution: Social Login
- 77% of consumers reported a preference to having the option to use an
existing ID, such as Twitter, Facebook, Google etc.

Facebook is the most powerful social network on the planet so it is obvious that there are more social network marketing tools that make use of it.

No fake signatures - thanks

Social networks give you a platform to communicate with your target audience. It may not generate revenue directly but it will help you build your brand awareness.

Through social networking sites you can gather as many audience that you desire, depends on your target market. It is the easiest and fastest way to advertise your product/service without hiring sales people, etc. But remember this is only one of the best ways, that means you have to have other marketing techniques/tools to support your goal.

Companies these days rely mostly on social media marketing. It is more effective this way, spreading promotions and updates regarding your company since a lot of people dig social networking sites these days such as Facebook, Twitter and the likes. However, don't make it look spammy and make sure that you are giving new information to your customers.

A social media marketing technique can be as simple as having a company weblog, a Twitter posts content issue, or connecting "Digg This" and "Tweet This" to the end of content. It can also be as complex as having a complete technique that contains blogs, Twitter posts content, team group media and well-known viral videos through YouTube.
