A cash advance from a credit card is usually at a higher interest rate than purchases that starts immediately when taking the cash advance, besides the 3% or whatever cash advance fee. In that case it would be better to see if you could charge the repair.
Best bet is if you have a credit card with balance transfer teaser checks, especially if you can get a low rate for unlimited time and no balance transfer fee or 3% balance transfer fee limit (like $75 max). I did that once when I had a balance I was not able to pay off for awhile, and locked in 2.99%, although, the best lately for unlimited time seems to be 3.99% (lower rates are usually for limited time).
But if you take advantage of any teaser rates, make sure you always pay enough on time to not have the special rate end prematurely.
