quick money?  Reply with quote

So initially I posted a question about doing paid surveys, but after reading some existing posts I feel my question has been answered. It's as I expected, paid surveys are a no-go. Still, I am in a situation where I don't get my next paycheck until the end of September, so it would be nice to find a way to make a bit of money. I live in a very rural community so my options around here are limited. Any advice on web-based profit? I suppose it's a bit of a broad question.
I'm a high school teacher, and not very well-versed in creating websites or anything like that.

Sigh. Yeah, I figured it was a long shot. I'll still look into the website idea for future end-of-the-summer-dry-spells. Any advice on creating a website to make money?

Shop around for the best web hoster, and put ads in as soon as you get it running... i use adsense by google because people see the name google ads and know its safe, virus free ads

rosehips, making money on the internet is not what it used to be. In the past, say 10 years ago, uploading a page to a server and getting instant traffic was routine and monetizing that traffic was not difficult. Today's www is a much more mature medium filled with participants competing hard for the same target audience with less possibilities of making money due to the recession. In addition, the channels for traffic are now more complex and varied. You will have to think where the people that can become your following are... is that facebook, is that peers searching bing or google... are they on mobile gadgets? etc... Your best bet is to plan long term, but start today! Start small with low expectations and get your site to grow slowly but day after day. Choose a topic you are familiar with, one that you have expertise on and a topic where you feel you can make a contribution. And for a while forget about trying to make money out of it, until you gain some experience.

The best will be to learn about traffic, the most essential element on the internet. How to get it, how to filter it, how to maintain it, etc. Everything you can learn about your own traffic and how to make it grow will be key for the next stage which is to make money out of it. There are still niches that are very profitable and many opportunities to sell to that traffic, whether it is ads, offers, services or products. But the key for that would be to gain the confidence and trust of your audience and this can take time.

This is not meant to discourage you, Quite the contrary, it is essential to start today as one day you will wake up and you will see that you have been rewarded with nice steady traffic. The only difference between now and then, is that now it can take a lot longer. Perhaps as much as 6 months or a year. But the results can also last long.

That is true. There are no quick tips or shortcuts for making money online easily. It takes determination and hard work, but not just on weekends or on your free time. You have to keep things fresh and new everyday. If you run a blog, it's very important to post something useful everyday.

You basically just need to post new and unique content everyday, optimize your site for search engines, place your ads, exchange links and the money will eventually come. Razz

Regards.

Write some cheap content. You'll get paid practically nothing, but it's $. That's what happens if you aren't willing to invest in the long term.

I've heard good things about freelancer.com, but have no personal experience. It just sounds like you have to bid on a ton of them before you get an actually job. I know there's another site that's similar, but I can't remember it...

Hi guys, thanks again for the advice. I have a question about blogs. If I start a blog on blogspot and incorporate ads, do I get paid when a person simply reads my blog, or do they have to click on the ad?
