What would you do with extra $5000...  Reply with quote

Fun hypothetical here:

Imagine you got a check for $5000 in the mail tomorrow and had to spend it in some way, what would you do?

If I couldn't save it, I would probably want to pay off some credit card debt, although a trip to somewhere nice could be fun too... Wink

I would do the following:

1- Save $1000 for my wife's education
2- put $500 in orphan sponsorship
3- Invest $1500 in the stock market (not in penny stocks!)
4- Spend $2000 for a family vacation

You can not become free by accepting to be occupied

$5,000

1. Pay off debt ($470)
2. Labtop ($3,000ish)
3. $1,530 into Savings

So, when should I expect my check Andrew Razz

A new computer would be nice for part of it.

Would probably get the wife a new car.

That's an easy question Smile . I'd buy land. Prices have doubled here in the last 5 years. As soon as I get some money that I can miss, I know how to use it Wink

Lets see now....assuming I'm not allowed to save or invest it (which is what I would do given NO stipulations), first of all 1/2 would go to my wife so spend on what she wants, that brings me down to $2500. Hmm.....I think spending a month driving our motorhome around the country, seeing things we haven't seen yet woule be my choice.

BTW, costs average $100/day for my wife and I while traveling vis motorhome.....

If I could not invest it in anything in any way, I would buy a 77 or 78 trans am. I want one and actually plan to buy one next year depending on how my websites are doing. A random $5000 would sure help that plan along though.

I would definately put a percentage of it into a arbitrage trading company. It is virtually risk free and the interests are high. I use a company called sierra investment company. You can use the link in my signature for an invitation.
You might be a bit sceptical seeing I promote it my self but this is for real. The reason why I promote it is because I use it! Check it out! Arbitrage trading (or surebetting) is the way to go!
