I've heard quite alot about them just dont know what they are

Anyone know or had experience

in general you join an affiliate and post ads on your site and you get paid either per view(impression), per click, or per lead (meaning a sale or they fill out a form. There are several affiliate programs out there. Some will not except you untill your site is well established.
