The best thing you can do to increase PR and traffic is to become an asset. Become a resource, an authority. This is obviously hard: that's why people resort to more black/gray hat tactics. But if you become a truly valuable resources, this will be reflected in your traffic, PR and the way G00gle views your site.

When I think about improving PR and traffic I try to think of more long-term, sustainable ways to generate growth. So this means do press releases, maybe hold a contest, create a viral marketing campaign. Do something that will generate natural interest so you dont have to spend so much time, money and energy doing so. Try to get a diverse link portfolio and grow by offering unique, valuable content.

I think that the best marketing tool for an website is the search engine. For that it is necesary to do good SEO. But my question is: Which is better? to build backlinks by hand or to buy them?

To improve page rank in Google and traffic on our site then we have to use the some SEO techniques which was very cheap but very effective te3chniques. Put add on another site and it will provide traffic on our site, use face book, twitter, blog and etc.

Facebook and other social network sites are great to bring traffic , bookmarking is also helpful, try to submit in good directories and go for forum posting

I have a bankruptcy website that I manage SEO for. We add content to this site daily. And one thing we just did is add a bankruptcy glossary. You can do the same for SEO terms. Imagine having 100's of terms on individual pages that you can optimize keywords for.
It's a great way to show the relevance of your site and I do not believe enough people are doing it!
