limit-busting purchase???  Reply with quote

I got a $1000 limit card, but i made a $2000 purchase, so I'm wondering if it'll go through. When I talked to CS reps at my bank about this purchase, they said that I won't be able to get an increase till after may 05', but also they kinda hinted in a way as to say, "good luck", as in good luck with the over the limit fees and high debt. Does that mean the purchase will go through? I keep hearing how credit companies hate to refuse a sale because of extra cash being made by interest and all. The item I bought was on backorder, so the card won't try to get charged till then. A part of me hopes it doesnt go through, so I don't get stuck with fees and it being on my report... btw, i only made that attempted purchase because I knew I could pay it off within a few months anyway, but I just couldn't wait with xmas and all... any comments?

They may let it go though. This will cause you to go over your limit, of course, and that means extra money for them in fees and higher interest rates. Good luck!

Seems to me like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Best advice? Ride out this storm as best you can, but don't sail into it again!
