Still haven't done mine...  Reply with quote

Is it bad that I still haven't done my taxes this year yet? I want to but I'm just so stressed out and have so much going on.

They aren't due until 15 April. Unless you think you have a refund coming, there's no need to rush. However, you need to be careful because if any problems arise and you need to consult a tax preparer or CPA, you may not find one at the last minute.

Just TurboTax it and get it over with. Sounds like you're doing what I do when I'm trying to avoid writing a paper. Spending more time thinking about it than actually just doing it.

Turbotax is a breeze. Get it over with then treat yourself to a good glass of red wine, or what your choice of poison is.

Sounds like not doing your taxes is adding to your stress... Might want to just get it over with. And if you are getting a refund, then there is something to take away from that stress! Very Happy

The advertisement which led me to this said that
some of these IRS sponsored companies will do
both Fed and State for free.

I did mine for free through Turbotax. You can if you make under 50k a year. There are several easy to use programs out there if you don't have a super complex tax situation (don't have a business to deal with).

I felt stressed and depressed rather long time, managed to recover thanks to long lasting therapy and medical observation. Btw, during the stress period I saved myself with cbd vape and dab carts .

The IRS typically docks a penalty of . 5% of the tax owed following the due date. For each partial or full month that you don't pay the tax in full on time, the percentage would increase. The penalty limit is 25% of the taxes owed. The IRS recognizes several crimes related to evading the assessment and payment of taxes. Under the Internal Revenue Code § 7201, any willful attempt to evade taxes can be punished by up to 5 years in prison and $250,000 in fines. Cases where the amount of tax sought to be evaded or tax on under-reported income is lesser than ₹25 lakh, the person can be punished with imprisonment of at least three months and up to two years and with fine. Tax evasion is a crime.
