Money making online |
|
|
I am beginning to see a lot of people (my family and friends included) making money on the internet. I am looking into making my move in the same direction. With so many social networks and free blog sites, is it worth it to have a website? I was wondering how many people are making money on line by selling handmade goods. Or are you making your money on a service? I am looking for any tips or advice.
Thanks

If you can find a niche, a lot of the ebayers are making a living on just about everything you can imagine. Advertising makes good money only if you have heavy traffic, which is usually evaluated by looking at your competitor alexa.com traffic ranking. Of coarse, a large number of start-ups fail, but most will follow their instinct.
I've had various websites since the mid 90s. I'm trained and certified as webmaster, web & graphics design, and IT Tech support. I have a partner in Jersey that does programming (database and scripts).
What do you have in mind?

Having a website is recommended as it is your own asset. Freebies on the Net may have limitations and restrictions.
If you are looking to building a long-term online career, it pays to invest in a website as it is great for establishing creditability and offers more flexibility.
You can opt for DIY websites as there are many easy to use software, or get some professionals to design and create it for you. That depends on your budget. Regardless, in my opinion, websites need not be flashy - keep the pages simple.

One easy solution is grab a hosting account with Fantastico included and set up a Wordpress blog with a free theme and some free plugins to get going in a hurry with very little expense. You can even tweak the theme to get rid of the comments and use it like a Content Management Sustem (CMS) if you don't want a true blog.

If you have some money to mess around with, it may be worth checking out this new platform called appbackr.com. Basically, you purchase multiple copies of a concept mobile app, providing its developer with upfront funding. Once the app starts selling in the store, you make retail back on your copies.
It has a really high return rate and they've had some very successful apps on there. Also, if you do start a blog and get followers, you can advertise the app you backd and increase the chance you sell all your copies.
Mobile is a really hot space right not and this is the first opportunity I've seen for non-developers to participate.
Hope that helps.

Do your research before you buy any online business system. You will find that many of the self proclaimed gurus are making their money from the products they sell you and not from using their so called systems. The best way to start out is to offer a service that you perform on the internet. For example if you like to write you can offer your writing services online. Try and avoid areas that you know nothing about.

I think having a website helps you build your online identity. People are not going to buy hand made goods if you have a free blog like handmandegoods.blogspot.com.
Good Luck.

If you plan on making a profit from an Internet business you must understand
that it's a 24/7 proposition for as long as you run it and you'll be buying stuff from those who make their money by selling to those who want to start an Internet business in the first place. Remember that you'll be dealing with people that you will probably never meet. Do you really want to do that?
I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. What you must realize is that social
networking, blogs and web sites on the Internet; will give you the same amount of exposure as the planet Earth has to the Universe.

You can create your blog free by Blogger service and than you can earn money by putting Google Adsense and increasing traffic on your site. I earn money by Google Adsense and many other people also use this service.

I want to comment that there are a lot of dishonest people selling items online. A large number of individuals who never intend to deliver any goods at all; and many others peddling defective merchandise as new. I've gotten burned on Ebay many many times. Around one in 10 transactions becomes a nightmare. Now days, you really have to take a very close look at their feedback ratings, to see if it's forged (fraud).
I had this guy at my work selling the same DVD player 10 times on Ebay and never delivered. We later caught him embezzling funds. Even my old boss was selling those fake herbal scam breast enlargement pills, making big bucks doing it. It's just the nature of the beast (nefarious).

As long as the suckers keep lining up there will always be someone willing to service them and the Internet provides one hell of a long line. I have the authority to appoint a company as a Vendor for the State of New York and could sell these appointments for $5,000 dollars easily. That would make me big bucks but those who bought into it would receive no benefits at all. Why?
Because they thought they could sell all of their inventory while they lack the ability to know and deal with a state government.

Do beware however to find the legitimate online jobs. Do not register or join on something that asks money or payment up-front. That is likely another scam bs. Be smart.

There are many online jobs, like online data entry jobs, online submission jobs, online marketing jobs, online article writing jobs, affiliate marketing jobs, etc. These all jobs are really too good, so anyone can join these jobs with a little knowledge.

Adsense and Affiliate Marketing is very common nowadays. You just have to carefully choose your niche.
