A few bands worth checking out  Reply with quote

When I first came online a gal I met was always talking up Marillion
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dphpDdfZUGw

They have some great stuff but also some iffy stuff as well.

My first exposure to UFO was the few tracks that got radio play. Then one day I bought Flying.

When others were coughing up $$$ for CDs I bought albums for 25 cents.

One of those Albums was The Wild The Willing and the Innocent. So good I have bought the CD Twice;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNu89H7P2rE is? Oh yea found it from a Mick Box ref.

Long Live UFO and X-UFO my song of the year is Let It Roll. Don't have Force It yet.

Please share the bands that you feel are worth checking out.

Your first post seemed to be talking mainly about the small house band he leads at Guantanamera. I just wanted to make the point that the recordings he has produced of his own material are worth checking out for their original ideas, incredible chops, and modern musical concepts. Important contributions from Mauricio, Roman, Axel Tosca, and others too, they are not just solo works. He is also one of those charismatic musicians who makes the party happen. When he shows up at the rumba, it just takes off, and he does the same when he is playing live with groups, so it is also worth checking out his group live if you have the opportunity.

Thanks for the thanks just saw www.benparkdrive.com last weekend. Five bands played so it wasn't the longest set; but, it was a good set.

Also found a band that Mick Box recommended. Mick Box has maxed out on friends;)
