Someone posted earlier that Spain and England are the best places to live, someone else said Norway and Denmark etc.
OK here is my view as someone who has lived in Norway for two years, England for most of my life, Israel for a year, Spain for five years and has travelled extensively
Norway is clean, beautiful, organised, with friendly people an outdoor attitude and great skiing. The infrastructure is excellent and if you want to work then you can. However with a population of approximately just 4 million, keeping the country running smoothly costs and prices plus taxes are very high.
Spain (I lived in Andalucia) is once again Beautiful, with friendly people, hot weather and outdoor living a must, the cafe culture and a very family orientated society makes for very busy and sociable fiestas etc. However at present there is no work, IVA (VAT) is at 21% and tax is at 26%, the property market has collapsed, you only have to look at our site to see the number of people who want to sell. and foreign investors are leaving at an alarming rate.
England (my home country), tends to be cold and wet, the infrastructure works but many people don't seem too happy that they have to pay for it to work, unemployment is high and like the rest of Europe money is tight. However when the sun shines the UK is one of the most beautiful countries on earth, rich and green, with a culturally diverse population and an ancient history.
My personal view is this, every country on earth has something to offer they and their people are all fantastic in their own way,
If you ask me were is the best place to live I will say EARTH.

Ah but then as you live in Canada you could be bias.
Actually I have friends in Vancouver and visited a number of years ago. The country is fantastic, clean with good education and health systems and seemed to me to be very environmentally friendly.
We will be contacting over a thousand Canadian Real Estate agents later this month in an attempt to encourage them to post Canadian properties on our site and expose them to a global market.

The top places to live are those with an ideal political and social environment. Censorship limitations, health care availability, climate, cost of living, real estate, quality of infrastructure, educational programs and recreational activities are also taken into consideration when ranking the top places in the world to live.
