Tax Implications From FHA Refi  Reply with quote

I refinanced my home using an FHA Streamline Refinance in December. I didn't pay any points. However, there was a lender credit that applied towards the closing costs of the broker and the rebuilding of my new impound account.

Does any of this have any tax implications for me? Am I responsible for paying taxes on the lender credit? Will I receive a 1099??

Can I write off the upfront mortgage insurance added to the loan amount? I'm assuming no, since I'll be paying on it for 30 years. Or can I write if off for the first year???
