Payday loans  Reply with quote

Does anyone have experience with a payday loan service in Houston? I'm looking for any reputable places, if they exist. Google search yields results but I'd love a recommendation.

The terms "reputable" and "payday loans" are mutually exclusive. This thread will likely get nuked, but do ANYTHING other than obtaining a payday loan to solve your financial problems. Sell your car, sell your stuff, sell your kidney -- anything to avoid these predators.

True, a lot of disreputable payday loan companies but some are decent. There's a new place coming to the Houston area. I know it doesn't help in the short term for you but a decent company called deleted is coming to Houston at some point before the end of 2013. I'd give a website but I don't want to get misconstrued as spam. They have some other locations on the east coast I'm familiar with. Just google that name and you can probably find their site. That said, Publius offers the right advice but in a pinch, if you find a reputable place they can help you out.

Peace.

I'm not sure that the PayDay lenders really deserve all of that - just some of it. Very Happy

The business writers and journalists calculate the APR and then go nutso with the sensationalism - eg, 300% APR, 400% per year, rip the poor, yada. And then the State AG gets excited and tries to legislate them away.

Here is the 'pro' side of the debate. You're a min wage earner - you come home on Fri nite, DW has the last & final shut-off notice from the power company. If you get a $300 PD loan you can rush down, pay, and avoid the shut-off.

Without that $300 instant loan, your apartment would be dark, cold, food in the refrig would spoil, no TV, nada - and the kids would cry all w/e. Then on Monday AM you owe the power company all past-due bills, a security deposit, and a hook-up charge - but you still have no money.

The "help the poor" crowd is correct, it is 300% or 400% APR. But for the family who needs it instantly, it is a $30 fee to save the day - and who cares what the APR is? The loan is designed to be immediate, even with no credit - not to finance purchases for a years at 300%.

Payday Loans = Trouble  Reply with quote

People from across the country get into serious financial trouble when they acquire a payday loan. Too often, a lump sum payment just isn’t feasible for people in need of a loan, but they still acquire a payday loan when they should be taking advantage of smaller payments over a longer period of time.

no credit check payday loans  Reply with quote

There are many payday lenders in Houston, Check city is the largest among all cash advance stores but the fee associated with payday loans are very high so better you find alternate solution to find money.

Once I had the hard situation when I'd just found a new job after a long-term unemployment and had no money to pay a rent, so my landlord threatened to evict me. I had to solve that problem ASAP and decided to risk and take a such kind of loan on http://usonlineloans.com/. I really liked their service.
