Hi. I have been running a blog site about hair trends and choosing the right wig for both men and women. In that 7 years, I now feel a bit confident that it is about time to step forward and make this thing as a real business. Yes, I'm thinking of starting my own online store for all types of wigs. One of my concerns is how to boost my site's page rank on google. When I started running my blog site, SEO was very popular and it helped my site in a way too thru the support of my friend who used to manage several blog sites too. Now, I have been hearing a lot of SMM and they said it's much easier especially for those who are operating a small business. I would like get some of your insights on this. Maybe both methods would be beneficial to my online store. But at the moment, I don't have enough funds to hire a company to who can help me with this. Perhaps I can go for one only...so the question is...what is more important right now, SEO or SMM? Thanks in advance.

Personally I’d run them in tandem as they are both valuable means of increasing visitors to your website and they don't influence each other, despite what you may here
With regard to SEO ensure that your pages are well optimised and then then look to link build
With SMM - stay active FB, Twitter etc

Hi, Aspire! Thank you for sharing your insights. Hmmm...seems I really have to do both strategies. SEO sounds really important too. Maybe I can look for someone who can do this for me. I'm not really good at it. Let me check my budget after a month. Thanks once again.

I guess you can easily incorporate SMM with SEO and vice versa. People nowadays tend to be more updated in terms of Social media so I guess, it will work just to have both.

Both SMM and SEO can produce quality traffic. It certainly wouldn't hurt to incorporate a bit of both.
My friend advised that I hire an SEO company to help me out at least for a short time. I'm not sure though because it might get expensive. I guess I should call them and ask for a quote.

Both are important, but I think SEO is on the first place, nevertheless

I think you need both SEO and SMM,
But I would compare SEO costs with your cost of paid ads on Google at the start up stage. And focus your efforts on Social Media, because you can sell things through social media alone, and you can learn how to run it yourself. Good SEO is expensive when the competition is high, and google is constantly updating its algorythms, so what works today may not work tomorrow. To be honest i don't know much about SEO, but I know there are some good tools for managing your social media, like Hootsuite or Agora Pulse and such.

SMM or SEO
SMM is only good for attracting new people to your website. But in order to have serious buyers, you need seo. Business people does not like Social media websites, as they see them more targetted to general public.

If you want to get Instant Leads better to choose SMM. If you want long term leads and worth leads you better to choose SEO.
It's alway better to use all the available tools so I think that you shouldn't make choice. With seo, I find it a bit harder to figure out how to make things right but if you manage to do that, you receive cheap leads. With SMM, things are a bit easier except some aspects like account farming for example because you need to buy proxy server, get a working script and set everything up correctly.

These are two important ways to get traffic. Therefore, I think you should not neglect. And do everything possible to promote. I initially did everything myself. But it takes a lot of time and effort. Therefore, I decided to use the help of Manhattan Digital Marketing Firm. The results are very good for 4 months.
Have you applied to any companies?

There is a big difference between SEO and SMM. SEO is the process of gaining website traffic through organic search results from search engines, normally website owners rely on SEO to improve their SERP ranking.
