Currency manipulation investing. Scam?  Reply with quote

I keep hearing about this from a buddy of mine. He put $200k+ into currency because he believes there will be some major reset. Ireland currency, Iraq currency, etc.

What are your thoughts?

I heard that the devaluation highlights the importance of including restrictions on currency manipulation in trade and investment deals like the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). I do not really agree with your uncle, but you may find some great arguments at http://www.do-my-term-paper.net/. They have some great sources. Very Happy

I have an in law that is caught up in this. The revaluation (RV!!) and currency reset (CR!!) have been eminent, right around the corner and about to happen for YEARS now. This is widely known to be a scam perpetuated by dealers of these currencies and several have been shut down when it could be shown that the currency dealers were directly involved with the blogs and twitter feeds that pump these things up.

The levels of return that they are expecting with this RV are insane. The (non-forex) iraqi dinar is currently valued at about 1180 IQD per 1 USD. They are quoting eminent revaluation at 3 - 30 USD per IQD. THAT IS A 354,000% RETURN AT THE LOWER END!. Its insane and it isn't going to happen.

That isnt' to say that there aren't legitimate currency investment strategies that do generate returns over time. But this speculation on some imagined global currency reset is fantasy.
