I don't know if this is a nation wide problem or just in my local area, but Compass Bank online website has been experiencing technical difficulties. I first noticed this on November 8. I have called customer service numerous times and they are still working on it so they say!! I have two accounts with them that I can't access at all. These are estate accounts.
I hear people who hate Wells Fargo Bank, but I have never had any problem with their online website in all the years I have banked with them. And they didn't open up an accounts without my knowledge.
I'm just about ready to pay Compass Bank a visit and close out the two accounts I have there. I didn't want to have to pay for more checks at another bank though. It is down right ridiculous as I don't like to go to the bank when you are supposed to be able to access account online.

FWIW, I bank with BBVA (who took over Guaranty Bank here in Texas some years back) for a number of years and have had no problems with BBVA on-line banking since their takeover of Guaranty Bank. I can access all accounts, make transfers between internal accounts, etc. problem-free at every attempt. If I personally HAD experienced what you describe, I'd be parked at a local BBVA desk until they get it resolved or I would threaten to close the accounts. All my mother's estate accounts, however, were with other banks.
