You should really speak to a good CPA or Lawyer in your area..... I know what I'd do would be different from somebody else...

At the end of the day... the IRS will come after you, so you need to do things right from day 1

Good Luck

You'll have to provide more detail with your question.

Interesting,

If you own five businesses, you mean none are incorportated? How old are your businesses? Are they making profits? Are they viable businesses, as in growing?

The issue is simple, if these are real businesses, registered as DBA, then you can put them all under one corporation and this would certainly be less costly and still provide you with the protection and tax advantages you need in any business. Tell us more and I could better advise you, but no matter how small your businesses are, you should incorporate, and generally, Sub Chapter S is most advised, LLC could be considered, or a standard C-corp, but I would need to know more first.

Good luck to all, Mike
