Warning about adsense |
|
|
G'day
Some of you might not know this:
If you use adsense on your site make sure that you (the webmaster) DO NOT user the search engine feature and DO NOT click on your own adwords.
Google eventually catches on this and they hit you hard!!! You get banned for life.
Cheers

That's true, the top reason why people got banned from adsense program is clicking their own ads, but besides, if the computer you are using is the one you used to login to your adsense account, I think the adsense code will know to not include your click in your earnings. After I clicked my own ads several times (just wanted to see what are the sites which adevertise there) I found out in my earnings report that these clicks were added to the general counter of clicks, but didn't add up ot earnings..
The second worst thing with adsense is to ask someone to click your ads on your site..

The terms of service you agree to when signing up for Adsense states that both clicking your own ads and soliciting clicks are prohibited. Google takes it VERY seriously.

However, I have also heard that some sites got banned even when they didn't click on their own ads...
Perhaps Google is detecting an abnormally high click from a single IP??? If that's the case, isn't it easy to "sabotage" an adsense site?

It could be easy to do that. But why would you want to?

Also, anybody can ruin someone's Adsense if they don't like it. Just make 100 clicks a day on their Adsense, and Google shuts them down. It's a huge flaw, but not many people do it.

I wonder if my searches are suspicious. I do not perform them, but I placed a search box on the Intranet of a UK subsidiary of a company I used to work for. They are behind a firewall, and all come out of the same static IP address. I get the majority of my search revenue from them (about $.30/day). I have not solicited it, and it is not me doing it. Also, I never, ever login via those IPs, so hopefully, it does not get flagged as something suspicious.

They are giving you a little more leway now that YPN is out. I believe they may send you a cease and decist e-mail the first time they catch you clicking your own ads then they cancel you. I'm not sure though. I have heard of people getting that e-mail but that is not to say they wouldn't just cancel the account right off the bat either.
