$401K to IRA Rollover |
|
|
I have recently left my employer and want to roll over my 401K to a traditional IRA. I would like to split it three ways, a third in a T Rowe Price fund, a third in a Vanguard fund and a third that I manage myself. Is this possible and if so how do I go about doing this?

Another way to deal with this would be to establish your IRA at a low-cost brokerage and get your funds through the brokerage account. TD Ameritrade, eTrade, Schwab are some options you might consider.
This will save the paperwork associated with transferring to three separate custodians...
Hope this helps -

It's an often-overlooked option. The downside is if you're dollar-cost-averaging into the account, you have a transaction fee with each purchase, so you don't want to make a buy with a fifty-dollar contribution to the account, because your transaction fee will be 20% or more.

Plenty of quality fee-free stuff out there.
Ditto Jim.
