Increasing numbers of Britons are having too much fun to ever retire, new research suggests. How about people in the rest of the world?

What's retired?  Reply with quote

That is a matter of perception.

I have been retired for about five years, but it doesn't mean I sit in a rocking chair and watch the grass grow.

Just because I receive Social Security and belong to the AARP doesn't mean I can't start a whole new career in Internet Marketing, does it?

Im fairly young, and retirement to me means, I will work probably 4 hrs a day doing something i love to do, and take the rest of my day to enjoy with my family. Taking time off to travel and sight see around the world, but I can't envision myself ever not working, or being involved with some project or something, I mean what am I going to do with myself with all that free time.

I plan on retiring from my full time job and hope to do that before I'm 40! Still a long way off yet!

I will not be able to spend my time doing nothing though so will still be active working on something I love, travelling and helping out with charities.

I plan for my retirement since I'm 19. I want to be financial free and retire rich when I'm 25. So I must plan early and take action to achieve my goal.

Any body who's anybody should have a retirement plan. It's not a matter of perception, but a sole responsibility. When someone asks, "Do you plan on retiring?" they are not asking if the rest of your days will be spent in a nursing home; completely out of work! The question shows that retirement is an important financial goal, that each person should be prepared for; and when you're not prepared, things won't be so great. I'ts best to start planning now. Everyone should be taught the best ways out there, to plan before this time arrives. The earlier the education, the better. Educating kids about retirement should start in highschool. Highschool Juniors and Seniors ( remember seniors are not paying nearly as much attention ) should be taught the advantages of investing with Compound Deposists and the dramatic advantages of investing during those crucial young adult years; anywheres before twenty-five. My signature provided provides a great place for kids to start putting money away for retirement. Heck, they'll learn so much and even pay for college! The fact is that the earlier you investment your money with CD's the greater your return will be and that anybody who's anybody- should plan for their retirement.

I agree with Avino. I want to retire... but that just means that there is no 9-5. I'll still be involved in many other things.

Ya, we are all planning on retiring.
Wouldn't it be nice to retire young and retire rich?

I believe we need residual income to make that happen
