You can also use an article distribution service. You only type and it submit it once, then the service sends it out to all different article directories. They vary wildly in price, but isnare.com is on the cheap end. It only costs like $2 per article.

Article marketing is working. I have submitted one article to about 250 article site manually and currently I receive some free traffic everyday. I think it will drive massive traffic if submitting one article every week. Current I still not using software to submit article as I heard people said Google will ban websites that grow their links too fast.

Thanks for the list. I've written some articles for eZine articles, and the submission process there is fairly easy. It would be good to have other places to submit my articles as well. Having quality links out there is a good thing.
I think it's pretty funny that one of the hottest topics on some of the article submission sites is how to write articles for article submission sites! Are we talking to ourselves?

But I don't get it, how do you get traffic by submitting articles?
Do you include your URL in the articles' content?

Yes, you add your url at the end of the article. In exchange for using your article on their site, you get a link back to your own.

I agree that submitting articles is a great thing. I do it almost
every week, well every week with some minor exceptions 
But this is great for three things:
1.) you get links to your web site (search engines love this)
2.) you get direct traffic to your web site
3.) you gain name recognition! This one it probably the most
important one because people tend to buy from people that
they know and trust. Also when you have some name
recognition you can go and submit articles with your affiliate
links inside --> You'll get many direct sales from that (could
also work if you're not that known yet, but trust me it won't be
a lot).
I know of a marketer that makes $1000s every article he sends.
Why?
Because people know him and trust him. Simple. And he is also
an excellent writer and doesn't hesitate to give real value in
the articles. This is basically it.
I use and really suggest you also use article submission services.
Google will NOT ban anyone building their links very fast as this
is something others could do to you and you have no control over
it. It might not work as a PR booster so much any more though...

You can submit articles to hundreds of directory with a click and it needs a php script. you can get it free and downlod it and upload it to your site and you can use it.

There Is so many people jumping on the article band wagon. Sometimes I wonder If It's even worth the time. I agree that It's good for back links. Just make sure the article directory you submit your article to has a high pr.

Article submissions are not as useful as they used to be, but they're
still worth doing. As with anything, once the masses catch on the market
becomes flooded. Most article directories are just loaded with poor quality
articles that are not worth reading, much less reprinting.
And I believe the search engines will start giving less value to links from
these directories as they are becoming so full of fluff.
That said, its still an easy way to get links and hopefully some traffic to
your site. But as you write your article keep your reader in mind, not the
search engines.
If it is well written and relevant other sites will pick it up and publish it. These
links are far more valuable than those you receive from the directories themselves.
