Too little money problem...  Reply with quote

Hi,

I'm interested in investing in stocks, but I don' t think that I have enough money to do that... Because of the fees for every buy/sell operation I should make real big percent of profits to go even and a lot more to make profit Rolling Eyes So the thing I want to ask is if anyone knows a reliable company/broker that would take smaller amounts of money and invest (ofcourse taking some % from profits).

Thanks

Domas

I use Scottrade, too, and I've been satisfied with their service. But I think the only place the do business outside of the U.S. is China. I'm not positive on that point, though. Use the web to look up discount online brokers in your country. If you can find one that has a physical address and phone number, so that you can get help if you need it, so much the better. Scottrade, for example, has an office in my town, and I went there to get my account set up, since I was transferring funds from another account and it wasn't a simple process.

My suggestion (do what you like with this as it's only a suggestion) is to read as much as you can on investment (I particularly liked the methods used in "Rule #1" by Phil Town, which follows the methods of Warren Buffett but tells you exactly how to do it, or there's the Dogs of the Dow method, with its own website), choose a good method, choose one or two really terrific stocks, and place your money on them. Follow them carefully, and watch to see if the signs say "sell" (there are some good indicators to follow in the "Rule #1" book).

If you read a great deal about investing, you may find other methods that are more appealing or more comfortable for you. You may, for example, prefer a mutual fund, an index fund, or a REIT. Just be sure to do enough reading that you know what it is you're getting into, and how to tell if it's a really terrific investment or not.

The best option I could think of for International investors is http://www.tdameritrade.com. I tried to register with scottrade.com but they are not open for international investors the last time I checked.

You can not become free by accepting to be occupied
