I think most people need to understand what is a need and what is a want. Modern advertising has turn many wants to needs.

The only thing I would add to that is that it should be agreed from the beginning that one partner has final say. Not everthing can be negotiated.

Hidden agenda's are the culprit to failed commitees.
Mariages don't have hidden agendas, right?
Also what of baggage brought into a young couples matrimonial ties?
I'm sure everone is upfront about those items, financial baggage that is.
